In 2022, I had bought myself a diesel BMW, a dream car. Diesel was cheaper at this time, then COVID impacted supply at the time and suddenly prices became far more expensive than unleaded.
Two years later, I started looking at electric vehicles (EV), particularly Tesla Model Y as I preferred the SUV style vehicles. At the time I held off though due not to the car but a lack of space in our garage — the Y plus Jodie’s X3 would have meant little wiggle room; also, charging infrastructure at the time was poor in the state I lived in.
Two years on, in 2026, I am living elsewhere and the world is a different place due to war in the gulf right now. Diesel is sometimes in short supply now and I’ve ordered myself an EV. This blog follows my journey with the Hyundai Elexio Elite that I am shortly to take delivery of in April 2026.
