Switching my tech

I have been an iPhone user for many years, though recent years I’ve dabbled in Android but have swapped back and forth between the two platforms, especially these past 18 months, returning to iPhone at the end of 2025. On Android, I have explored both Samsung and Google phones several times and had issues with payments that ultimately I couldn’t get around, driving (pardon the pun here) me back to iPhone where I didn’t experience this. However, with iPhone, constant frustration with autocorrect and issues affecting iCloud.

Until 2026, I had never experienced car-based systems like CarPlay or Android Auto, I had always relied upon my phone streaming via Bluetooth to the car which hadn’t been entirely reliable. I have enjoyed CarPlay since getting the Elexio back in mid-April, but more recently the iPhone not so.

My frustrations with iPhone and iCloud-based issues have reached that point again where constant need to perform resets to correct issues has me off to buy a Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra tomorrow.

I’m now looking forward to checking out Android Auto for the first time (once I overcome the enormity of setting up all apps once more… oh, joy!).
