Trip’d up

This morning I headed back to Canberra to trade in my old MacBook Pro on a new M5 MacBook Air, and to get Apple’s advice on why my backups with Time Machine might be failing.

I took a chance and didn’t charge the car before setting off mid-morning, slight palpitations I must admit, but set off I did. Thankfully, I did manage to make it to my first port of call, Yass, with around 70 kilometres charge remaining. My drive to Yass was far from eventful this time, several times along the way the car decided it would gradually slow down, this a change from back in June where it violently decelerated — I must admit I much prefer this over June’s incident, though would go neither. These speed drops occurred three times on my way to Canberra, proving entirely unsettling.

The speed drops as well as two issues whereby the car just decided it did not want to allow me to lock the car; I needed to turn the car on/off once more before it would permit this. I was at the Yass Tesla Superchargers when it refused the second time, I decided after charging had completed to do a reset that was shared online in forums in recent times — holding down both scroll wheels until such time the Hyundai logo displays on the widescreen.

I continue to find quirks with this car, there are times I do wonder if it may have been better to have gone a Tesla?!
