The word on Facebook is that Hyundai may have issued a voluntary recall this week for the Hyundai Elexio over its safety system. From what people have said the recall involves both software and hardware replacement and may not take place until February 2027, so your car may be taken and stored until fixed and you’re offered a demo vehicle in the interim, not necessarily an EV.
I don’t know if true at this stage as is early days, but being required to wait that long for a fix is huge. My concern is the impact for me on my novated lease and FBT reporting given you have to specify kilometres for a given year; I’m already running particularly low.
That said, it isn’t a surprise the car is facing a recall given many people have reported on Facebook having issues with the car’s safety system. Previous models have also been recalled for the same reason, so the Elexio joins the list it seems.
