Just read this post on Facebook by Electrify This that compares emissions of petrol cars to that of EV cars (solar + grid 50% each) driving 200,000 kms. Overall, the EV comes in 73% lower than the petrol vehicle. It is an interesting post as often detractors of EVs want to cite emissions to build EVs as a negative and reason not to adopt the technology, yet clearly this post shows significant benefits are gained long term.
