Android abandoned

I had swapped to Android and Samsung weeks ago after frustrations with iPhone and particularly autocorrect, little did I expect Android would be such a disappointment.

It wasn’t my first foray with the platform, though previous issues I’d had with Android only centred around tap to pay experiencing significant issues. This time around I didn’t face those, thankfully, just the occasional issue here or there, though I have also had one or two experiences on iOS and overlooked those, it happens.

With having gone electric in April the one thing I’ve discovered is the new-generation vehicles are heavily reliant upon our phone entertainment systems, CarPlay and Android Auto, without which you don’t have much. Initially having started on iPhone and CarPlay all was hunky dory, it just worked without issue, there wasn’t a crash experienced before I swapped to Samsung.

Then in June I swapped to Samsung and Android Auto. Initially, it worked without issue for about the first two weeks, thereafter I experienced audio issues whereupon it would have connectivity issues and crash at least a few times in short travels.

Despite many attempts to change settings as recommended on various Android sites, nothing truly worked, or worked for long before issues resurfaced. I think Google needs to invest a lot of effort into overcoming well-documented issues with the app as it is not good enough that it remains unfixed for as long as it appears to have been.

I have returned to iPhone and iOS, albeit the iOS 27 public beta with the new Siri which is a much welcomed upgrade!
