So, I got up early to head to my Monday doctor’s appointment, packed early with intent to do an hour’s work in town as the appointment is when I’d normally have started work. As I’m driving to work there’s a huge number of cars parked along the Showgrounds, curious, but I keep driving.
As I get round halfway I look to my Elexio’s display and see I am utterly out of it, it’s Sunday and I make plans to return home feeling rather an idiot; I’ve been laid up in bed all week on pain meds so hardly surprising I don’t know my Mondays from my Sundays.
As I’m driving home I decide the car needs a top up and pull in to the Tesla charging bays. First bay I choose just has to be out of order — seems to have a few chargers going down here lately. I walk to check which is up before driving to one, seems easiest and begin my charging at 1A. Despite being a 300kW charger, today it is struggling in the -1°C to get above 105kW, typically it ramps much more quickly before slowing once we near the 70% charge rate (I think?).
Oddly too, my usual solo charging experience here lately has become partnered the last few charges, perhaps EVs are becoming more popular here now given the gulf situation.
