Uptick in popularity, scarcity in bays

The benefit of living rurally and owning an EV has been fewer owners to battle for charging bays, though that seems to be changing here in Wagga Wagga gradually.

When I got my EV five months ago, how the time has flown, I could pull up to charge at the Tesla bays and never see another car charging. Lately though I have started to see multiple cars charging here, I pulled up there at 8am on Saturday morning and two cars were already on the go.

What did surprise me was that I was last to arrive yet first to depart. There was a Tesla and and older looking EV, this car started charging roughly the same time as myself. I fully expected the Tesla would be gone before me, I thought they charged at a higher speed than my Hyundai, or maybe he was charging to 100% where I only went to 80%, who knows.

In any case, along with EV sales in Australia now greater than that of ICE-based vehicles, I’m guessing checking bay usage at the Tesla chargers is going to become necessary in the future to see if taken or not as we’ve only a small number here. Would be great if they’d add a second site.
