That title feels like something out of a Heath Ledger movie, rather I’m sitting here in the Quest Hotel at our town’s bank of Tesla Superchargers.
I’m not sure if it is the rather cold morning we’ve had today, we got it -0.2°C unusually for April, but charging is only running around 98kW, though was slower earlier when I started charging in the mid-80s suggesting a full charge to 100%, not my intended, of over one hour.
I’m glad I stopped off at Maccas beforehand for a cappuccino, even wearing a scarf and beanie this morning I believe I’ll be needing the additional warmth of their average coffee.
After having signed up last night to ensure member rates this morning, the process to use the charger this morning was relatively painless, though oddly I did need to enter my billing address details again. As people have mentioned, the charger cables are really short, initially I parked a little too far back and needed to inch forward some, I think next charge I’ll try to park more left to make access easier still. Despite my port being front left it was still not easy access.
A quick check, after 22.5 minutes I’m nearly done, 72% and $16.
Final bill: $20.52, just a few dollars than I’d estimated last night but still significantly less than I’d I were similarly filling my BMW the same with diesel.
