I had headed into town early this morning to go to the pharmacy and nearby supermarket before the all important coffee drive thru. Afterwards, I figured the car was looking like it could do with a clean, so I took through one of those automatic washes, but selected the touch-free so no brushes would be used on the paintwork.
As I was sitting there chowing down on breakfast the car experienced issues with Android Auto and asked to reconnect — weird I thought, but I reselected the phone and all seemed okay. The wash done, I headed off but noticed I couldn’t get the car to exit car wash mode for some reason — driving would automatically terminate that in any case.
I head towards home and am driving no issues, now doing 60km/h and just passing a car to the left of us waiting to exit, suddenly the Elexio violently slows applying the brakes for one or two seconds before resuming driving as normal; from here on Android Auto disconnects and music ceases to play.
I had read on Facebook groups in a member of for Australian Hyundai Elexio owners of others similarly facing the same situation. It is interesting that recently Hyundai has had a major recall on other models, not the Elexio, for a similar problem. The Facebook group is wondering at what point might we get a recall given our experiences are identical.
Thinking I might have looked at a different car had I have know of this issue affecting earlier vehicles.
